Feds Set To Garnish Former Cleveland Brown Rucker's NFL Pension and Concussion Settlement
In Cleveland, Ohio, former Cleveland Browns NFL player Reggie Rucker sits in jail. The U.S. Attorney's Office states that Rucker owes over $110,000 as the result of a restitution order from a Federal judge.
Prosecuters want to garnish his pension and believe that earnings on the pension should go to the non-profits from which he was convicted of embezzling money. Rucker pleaded guilty in 2016 to using the bank accounts of the non-profit as his own, using funds to pay personal expenses and covering gambling debts. Charges include wire fraud and making false statements to the FBI.
The Federal Court's Office sent notice to the NFL; both the league and Rucker have the opportunity to object.
